On Monday the 19th of August we celebrated Book Week by having our Opening Book Parade!
Thank you Everybody!
We were so proud of all of the different types of costumes and all the hard work that was put into them. After the parade we then broke into multi-age groups and had books read to us followed by the activities. In these groups we listened to these short-listed books Timeless, Every Night At Midnight, Australia Country of Color. This was followed by activities related to the books. This was a whole day event and the activities were based on the books.
We had so much fun with every activity.
During the week at lunch and recess we had many book-related activities on Wednesday and Thursday we hosted the Indigenous Great Book Swap. We would like to thank everyone for the great donations and for everyone coming to the Book Swap . We hope you all are enjoying your new books. On Friday we finished our Book Week by having an Incursion. Perform Education came to our school to perform Maybe A Miracle which is a live performance showcasing the shortlisted books. Everyone came to the hall to watch the performance. It was amazing to see only two performers doing so many characters.
All children enjoyed the live performance and loved that they knew the books prior to the show.
Thank you everyone we had such a magical Book Week!
