Holt Swimming Sports
Congratulations to Leona, Liam, Duke, Abbey, Georgia, Jayde, Nina and Sam for representing St Catherine's at the Holt Swimming Carnival. This will be held on Friday 21st February at Oakleigh Recreation Centre, Oakleigh.
For Abbey and Leona, this will be their 2nd year competing, while for the rest of the squad it will be their first. Good luck everyone. Have fun and enjoy the experience.
Thank you parents for supporting our team and transporting them to and from the pool.
Hockey Roadshow
This Thursday, Southern United Hockey Club will be conducting a clinic for all St Catherine's children. This will give them an experience of this sport which I will continue later in the term.
On 27th February, 6th and 13th March, and 3rd April we at St Catherine's are lucky enough to have a tennis professional come to our school to introduce and develop our tennis skills. See flyer from Excel Tennis with further details.
Any child who currently plays tennis is welcome to bring their own racquet to school but it is only to be used in their PE class.
Running Club
What a fantastic response to our running club which commences this Thursday at 8.15am.
This week will give the children an opportunity to see what running club is all about and if they are willing to commit to the weekly program. We hope to have many self-motivated runners. Running club will certainly help me with our Holt Cross Country selection.
Children will leave their bags on the asphalt, attendance recorded by myself, have a stretch and warm up by Miss Dunne, and off they go.

Holt District
In the February 3rd newsletter I explained in detail what HOLT is all about. Please read and if you are still unsure email me on susan.pattinson@scmoorabbin.
In brief Holt is an inter school competition against 8 other schools in the HOLT district, which St Catherine's is a part of. Children need to be selected for this competition. Sadly not all children can participate.
Holt Cross Country
Our second Holt Competition for 2025.
Date : 30th April
Time : 12.30pm leaving school by bus at 11.40am
Venue : Bald Hill Park, Clarinda.
Age Group eligibility 9/10/11/12/13 yrs
MAY consider 8 yr olds depending on running ability.
9/10 yrs need to run 2km
11/12/13 yrs need to run 3 km. If your child is interested they need to start training NOW to get the most out of the experience.
