The 3/4 Learning Assembly for Term 4 was filled with lots of excitement and engagement, as the students showed off a variety of their mathematical skills.

Students began with explaining to their parents the different strategies we have been exploring in the classroom to solve multiplication and division problems. Students were able to apply their understanding of place value partitioning, the area model and arrays to multiply one digit by one digit and one digit by two digits to find the product of the number sentences. 

After problem solving with multiplication, students then were able to demonstrate their knowledge of geometric reasoning and location. Students and their guests went out into our school courtyard to find angles all around them and identify whether they were a right angle, smaller than a right angle or larger than a right angle. Student then used the border of their map of the courtyard to locate the coordinates of the angle.
