A Fantastic Term of Learning

We finish up the term, having achieved growth and progress in student learning. Although we were unable to invite parents into our learning assemblies this term, we are pleased to share in this newsletter some of the learning that has taken place throughout the term. Our students have demonstrated resilience, responsibility and enthusiasm in their learning this term despite the lockdown restrictions. We have lots to celebrate in student learning and teachers look forward to meeting with parents and students in week 4 for Parent/Teacher/Student Meetings.

Parent/Teacher/Student Meetings

Bookings for Parent/Teacher/Student Meetings on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 August are now open. Please click on the link below or click on the link on the school app Zsapp. Students are expected to attend these meetings, allowing students to discuss growth and achievements that they are proud of.

Meetings will be 15 minutes in duration and take place in your child’s classroom. The meeting structure will follow a simple format. The teacher will talk for 5 minutes, students for 5 minutes and parents for 5 minutes.

We suggest that parents with more than one child do not book back to back meeting times, to allow time to move to the next meeting.

Students must be supervised by parents or wait quietly outside classrooms and are not permitted on the school playground.

School Disco

Students are very excited about the up and coming school disco on Friday 25 June. A very big thank you to our Parents and Friends who have organised this event for our students. We have 17 parents who have volunteered to supervise students and sell items on the night. Thank you to parents who are also donating snacks to be sold on the night. Please see further information on snack donations in this newsletter.

Support restocking our vegie garden

Tuesday after school we will be selling Lemons, Limes, Mandarins and Parsley. Ange Caltabiano, a former staff member, has donated  organic produce grown in her garden. We hope the money raised from the sale of the produce will re-stock plants and seedlings for our school vegie garden.

Please bring your gold coins and look out for the Sustainability leaders, Linus and Anika and the green wheelbarrows.

Year 5 & 6 Camp- Wednesday 14- Friday 16 July

All plans have been finalised for our year 5-6 camp in week 1 of term 3. Parents will receive last minute information via Operoo today. The students and staff are so excited. This year we have Michael Juliff joining Mrs Berends, Miss Armour and myself on school camp. This year our students will attend Camp Weekaway, nestled in the quiet Benloch valley just 1 hour North of Melbourne. We will be the only school attending the camp site and all COVID safe plans will be in place at the venue.
