LEARNING IN THE PREP and 3/4 CLASSROOMS
This term's circuit breaker meant that the Preps as well as the Year 3/4s did not get to showcase their learning to you all via a learning assembly. Here is some of what has been happening in their classrooms.
PREP
As part of our Life and Living unit, Foundation chose an animal that they had seen at Healesville Sanctuary earlier this term to learn more about. This was the focus for writing lessons when learning to write information reports. Students researched their chosen animal using Epic and recorded their facts. Foundation students also got together with their buddies to design their animal. Now that we are back at school, the students are looking forward to making their designs from recycled and craft materials.

YEAR 3/4
This term, alongside all the learning we did in our Life and Living unit, the 3/4s also explored the continent Africa. We each investigated a country in Africa and went ‘old school’, producing a poster with all the information we researched ourselves.
We also looked at the topographical features of the continent of Africa. Topography is the study of the forms and features of land surfaces so to help us truly understand what this meant, we made salt dough maps of Africa, studied its land surfaces and painted it accordingly. Here are some images of our learning.
Gus Welsh - I enjoyed looking at the topography of the African map because I learnt about where the high and low lands were on the continent. Making it was fun because we got to paint.
Willow Mitchell - Doing the activities that we did, we really learnt about where the high peaks and lowlands were of Africa. I enjoyed it because I learnt a lot through experience.
Ben Anstee - I liked learning about the people and culture because it was different and I like discovering differences in our world.
Cristina Chiodo - I really enjoyed researching about my country Tanzania. I learnt how the people lived, their traditions, holidays and celebrations.
