Thank you

Thank you to all our families for your support throughout the year. As we draw this year to a close there have been so many fun and challenging times and it is hard to believe that the year is coming to an end. We quickly realised that although the year started off normal, we were expecting a “new normal” would emerge.

Throughout the year, we provided ongoing, transparent communication to families, explaining the latest updates, safety protocols and processes. We created flexible plans, and pivoted quickly when required.  We delivered educational programs and resources that supported learning at home and successfully transitioned students back onsite to learning at school. We worked together with families, guiding learning, attending to student wellbeing and continued to strengthen student/teacher/parent relationship all during a crisis period.

Coronavirus has presented challenges for everyone over the last year, but it has also provided us with opportunities to learn and to take this learning into the upcoming academic year. As we look ahead to the new year, we will continue to focus on high impact teaching strategies, quality assessment practices that will positively impact student learning. We will support the wellbeing of students and staff, empowering them to be confident and resilient learners. We call for the support of all our families to strengthen connections within the school community and wider community. We will look at ways to engage with our Parish and how to enact the mission of the Church.  We will welcome new faces and new ideas. Exciting times ahead.

Staffing 2022

Congratulations to Miss Laura Armour who will be teaching at Resurrection School Keysborough in 2022.

Laura has been working at St Catherine’s for 8 years and we wish her all the best for the future.

I am currently in the process of interviewing applicants and finalising teacher placements for 2022.

Students and parents will be informed next Monday 13 December regarding class teachers and classes for 2022.

Swimming

There have been so many excited and smiley students as they headed off to swimming lessons at Aquastar this morning. 

Thank you to all our families who donated money and vouchers to the St Vincent de Paul Moorabbin/Bentleigh conference. Our school is passing on over $400 to Loretta Bowd from St Vincent de Paul. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and will make a difference during this Christmas season to some families.
