We are excited to welcome some new staff, families and students to our school this year. In true St Catherine’s style, if you see any new faces around, please make them feel welcome.

Thank you to our P & F for organising a cuppa at school this morning and opening our second hand uniform shop. It was great to see families back again in our school grounds. This year we have a P& F room just off the asphalt area.  Our second hand uniform shop is now located in the P & F room.

2022 STAFF

Please see below the staff for this year. Parents will receive a welcome letter from their child’s teacher today. If you have any queries regarding your child learning, wellbeing or events associated with the class, please contact your child’s teacher. For general enquiries please contact Laura or Paula in the school office.

COVID UPDATE

All communication regarding COVID will be sent to families via the Operoo platform. It is important that parents/guardians check emails and Operoo regularly as information is constantly changing. Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) is ensuring that schools/principals are kept well informed, along with keeping our students and staff safe by following expert advice.

Today, after school families can pick up a kit of 5 tests for each family with 2 students. If you have 3 or more students at school you will receive 2 kits of 5 tests.  Kits will be available for collection from 3:15pm on the asphalt just outside the office. This will at least support families in the first week of the term. I will contact you as soon as I receive more test kits and let you know when you can pick them up.

SCHOOL OVAL

We have had some major work done to our oval over the holiday break. The oval has been scarified and sprayed to stop an infestation of beetles. While it looks a bit dry and uninviting at the moment, it will bounce back and be green again soon. It is quite safe for students to play on.

NEW SCREEN IN LEARNING HUB

A very big thank you to all our parents for raising funds to purchase a new big screen for our learning hub. Many thanks to our parents and friends who worked hard to still run fundraising events throughout last year.

Attention - Parents of Competitive Swimmers Only 

On 18th February, 2022 St Catherine’s (subject to Covid Safety Rules and Regulations) will be competing in the Holt District Swimming Sports. If your child is aged between 8 - 13 and is a competent swimmer of racing ability, they may like to try out for this event.

If your child is interested they will need to be timed over 50 metres in their preferred stroke/strokes by a parent or swimming coach.

Interested children can collect a form from Sue Pattinson on Thursday 3rd February which will contain further information.
