To celebrate NAIDOC week the Year 2 students have been learning about Indigenous Heroes of Change. We learnt about Pemulwuy, the hero of resistance, as well as Vincent Lingiari, the hero of standing your ground, who visited the city to stand up for the rights of Indigenous people, inspiring bravery in other people to do the same. 

Students in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 have also been learning about the meaning and importance of the Acknowledgement of Country. The students collected gum leaves and used paint pens to decorate them. We gathered the leaves together to create an Acknowledgement of Country to be displayed in the junior school.
