Sport News

Holt Athletics
On Thursday 1st September, St Catherine's competed in the Holt District Athletics against 8 other schools. 
It was a fantastic day and our children did extremely well coming 6th place overall. 
The following children have been selected to go through to Beachside;
  • Nathan - 1st in the Boys 12/13 Long Jump
  • Zara - 1st in the Girls 12/13 1500m Run
  • Xavier - 1st in the 11 Boys High Jump
  • Alexander - 2nd in the 12/13 Boys 200m Run  
Congratulations to you all and the best of luck at Beachside.
Congratulations to the following children who received placings in their event;
100m - 2nd Xavier, Alexandra and Nathan
          - 3rd Eva, Sabine and Jackson
200m - 3rd Alexandra
Boys Relay - 3rd Alexander, Jackson, Alexander and Nathan.
Thank you to Alana Tavcar, Joelle Diakrousis and Paula Hamilton for your assistance on the day. I would also like to thank all parents and relatives who came to support us, it is greatly appreciated.

Athletics Day Reflection

When our school arrived at the track we all felt like we had butterflies in our stomach. For the first race, no one competed, but everyone watched in amazement. Then the field events began, we were all feeling very nervous. When the 100m race came most of the people went. Everyone did really well. In-between events, everyone had some snacks ready for the next races.  The 200m race and more field events came. Towards the end of the day was the 1500m. Everyone ran really well. Zara came first in the 1500m.

Finally, the day ended with relays. Everyone's team ran well. One team had a close match and almost made it into Beachside relays. 

Overall our school came 6th in the percentage. Everyone tried really hard and gave an amazing performance.
