First Nations People
This term, Sabine, one of our year 6 students, wrote to the School Advisory Council requesting their support for our school to display more visual representation of
Aborignal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in our school.Sabine made a number of suggestions, one of which is for our school to display flags recognising First Nations People. Each classroom now has small desk flags and we now have a large portable flag display in our office.
We have now formed a First Nations People’s Perspective committee consisting of two students, Sabine and Rebecca, two parents, Karen Glancy and Dimity Hemphill and two teachers, Mrs Hills and Mrs O’Donnell. We have scheduled regular meetings to work on further actions to keep our community informed and to show respect to Indigenous cultures.
School Uniform
In term 4 last year we introduced some new uniform items and uniform policy. Beginning term 1 next year (2023) all new uniform items will need to be worn by students in Foundation to year 5. We are allowing year 6 only next year to still wear old uniform items in order to save parents the expense of a number of new items in their last year of schooling.
Uniforms can be purchased at PSW Pty.Ltd, 1 Age Street Cheltenham.
The new uniform items are:
Everyday Items
- Navy Wool Jumper
- Navy Zip Jacket
- Navy Beanie

- Navy/blue panel long sleeve top
Students can choose to wear either the plain blue shirt or the navy/blue panel shirt.
Students can choose to wear either the navy jumper or the navy zip jacket.
Footy Free Dress Day
Students can wear footy colours and footy clothes on Thursday 15 September. Mrs Patto has organised some fun footy activities for students on this day.
Network Upgrade Switch
On Tuesday 13 September from 10:00-1:00pm our network will be updated to ensure efficient and effective internet services to our school. This will mean that there will be no internet services available at our school during this time. Parents can still phone the school or email office@scmoorabbin.catholic.edu.au
