Como House Excursion

On the 12th of October the Foundation, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students went on an excursion to Como House in South Yarra. We went in the bus, dressed in our best olden day outfits. It was a very fun day with lots of learning involved! Have a look at what the following students had to say about the excursion…

Mansion Tour by Dom

The mansion was old, expensive and big. Lots of the paint was ripping because the house is over 100 years old. When I went into the playroom the Mum and Dad bought stuff from all over the world. Then I went into the ballroom and the Mum and Dad bought a diamond chandelier, golden mirrors and massive windows. Next I went upstairs and went into one of the kids bedrooms and saw a sink and an old bed. After that I went into the teachers bedroom and saw that there was no fire place and that was surprising because all of the others have them. Finally I went and sat down and played games and ate. I played chess and pick up sticks.

19th Century Games by Abbey

When we went to Como House I played 19th century games. First I played Croquet, it was fun. Then I played quoits and I got one hoop in. Next I did an egg and spoon race. After that I did some skipping and I was pretty good. Finally I played pick up sticks with Juliette, Hannah, Vanessa and Zoe and I won. I really enjoyed it.

Mansion Tour by Alexander

The mansion was so big and it was fun to explore. I liked the Mansion Tour because I saw a porcelain doll.
