In Grade 1 we have been doing a lot of great learning focusing on the Measurement and Geometry mathematics strand. Students have been learning about the difference between 2D shapes and 3D objects. We have also been learning how to describe 3D objects focusing on using everyday words such as 'corners', 'edges' and 'faces'. We have also made our own 3D shapes by cutting out and assembling nets.
