Change of Dates - End of Year
Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) have given permission for schools to finish the school year on Friday 15 December. This is to allow the school to provide owed Time in Lieu, Professional Practice Days and School Closure Days to school staff.
THE LAST DAY FOR STUDENTS FOR TERM 4 2023 WILL BE: FRIDAY 15 DECEMBER.
Year 6 Graduation will be on THURSDAY 14 DECEMBER, with Friday 15 December an optional day for attendance for year 6 students only.
Jump Rope for Heart
Hard copy information regarding Jump Rope for Heart was sent home with students last Friday. It is not compulsory for students to fundraise for this event. We hope some members of our school community will get behind this initiative and support this great cause.
We will be holding a whole school event- Jump Off Day on Friday 23 June at school. On this day students can wear free dress and bring a gold coin donation for The Heart Foundation.
Every Tuesday morning students will be encouraged to walk or skip as they arrive at school (8:40-8:55am, weather dependent) Mrs Tavcar will hold skipping practice at some student break times each week.
National Sorry Day
Last Friday our school gathered to Remember, Recognise and Reflect as a community. Thank you to our parents and friends who joined us for our school Liturgy. All students contributed to a whole school poster, which we will display in our school. Thank you to Mrs Davies for leading this liturgy.
Today Rebecca, Cristina, Harlan and River planted a native tree in our courtyard area to mark National Sorry Day.

Before and After School Care- Our Patch
Our Patch is working hard to find a suitable permanent leader for our before and after school care program.
They continue to offer programs each day run by replacement staff and the support of our own St Catherine’s Staff. Families are encouraged to book your child in as per the normal booking arrangement. We hope to have news shortly regarding a permanent leader. In the meantime our school is committed to supporting our school families.
Thank you
A big thank you to our Parents and Friends who organised the school disco. By all accounts from students this was a fantastic night.

Wednesday 21 June from 3:45-6:30 pm
Thursday 22 June from 3:45-6:30 pm
All students will participate in parent/teacher/student meetings. The meetings are designed to promote conversation between the student, their parents and their teacher, allowing students to demonstrate their individual growth and literacy and numeracy achievements that they are proud of.
The meeting structure will follow a simple format and will take place in your child’s classroom. The teacher will talk for 5 minutes, students for 5 minutes and parents for 5 minutes. We suggest that parents with more than one child do not book back to back meeting times, to allow time to move to the next meeting. We ask that siblings do not play on the playground or courtyard and wait quietly in hallways.
Year 6 Confirmation
Yesterday Sunday 28 May, our year 6 students and families joined St Peter’s year 6 students and families to celebrate their Confirmation. Thanks to Bishop Tony and Father John O’Reilly for celebrating the mass and making candidates, sponsors and families welcome. I wish to acknowledge and thank Carmel Donlon, Alana Tavcar and St Peter’s staff who prepared and supported this celebration. Congratulations to our students and may the gifts of the Holy Spirit guide you, guard you and fill you with the joy of Jesus Christ.
