Merry Christmas
This third week of Advent, let us remember that the good news of Jesus’ birth has the power to bring us great joy this Christmas season. Our joy is encompassed in our Savior, King Jesus. Flood our hearts with joy this Advent season as we wait for the birth of Jesus.
With the fourth week of Advent next week, we light the final purple candle to mark the final week of prayer and penance as we wait for the birth of our Savior. This final candle, the “Angel’s Candle,” symbolizes peace. It reminds us of the message of the angels: “Peace on Earth, Good Will Toward Men.”
I wish you all a very joyful, safe and peaceful Christmas. Looking forward to a great year ahead in 2020.

On Monday 25th of November, Foundation had their final Learning Assembly for the year. It was lovely to see many families come and celebrate the learning of our Foundation students.
Throughout the term, Foundation have been learning lots about prayer and in particularly, different ways we can pray. The foundation students prepared and led our families with meditation to start our assembly.
Ben gave us a recap of some of the different concepts we have covered in Mathematics this term, including Subtraction, 2D shapes and 3D Objects and Time. Rayson spoke about the fantastic cubes he created, whilst Joshua told us about the car races we had when discovering ordinal numbers (1st - 10th).
One of our favourite games we played during mathematics this term was ‘Towers’. We decided to share and play this game with our families. All we needed were dice and a tower of 20 unifix cubes. Each player had a turn of rolling the die and taking away that number of unifix cubes. After each turn, we recapped how many we took away and how many we now had left. This game helps us to practice subtraction. The aim of the game was to be the first player with no tower left. The Foundation students had a great time teaching their families how to play!
I would like to congratulate all students who received an award for the wonderful achievements they have made this term.

During weeks 9 and 10, Foundation to Year 4 students participated in the Swimming program at Aquastar.
There was a lot of excitement as the students learnt many swimming skills with their swimming instructors. Some of the skills the students have been developing include the pin drop, soldier kick, torpedo, freestyle and backstroke. On the last day of swimming the students wore extra clothing to assist in learning about swim safety.
Swimming has been a wonderful experience for our students to develop their swimming skills in time for the holiday break.
